Patterns at the Cooper Hewitt
I finally visited the Cooper Hewitt museum for the very first time! It’s beautifully ornate and full of patterns.
The current exhibits were also of particular interest to me. There was a great exhibit on textile industry innovations. I saw a lot of things up close I had learned about in the classes at F.I.T such as silk worm cocoons and brass rollers. Also seeing Lurex in a totally new light!
And upstairs, a great interactive exhibit on pattern design! You can draw your own pattern and watch it’s projection on the wall in real time.
